I watched the video on exporting to the Wiki Commons, as well as reading the docs, but I'm still lost on how to export the final map. There's supposed to be a button for this somewhere, but I can't find it!

Good question,

First of all you have to check if SVG version of map looks fine for you - to do that click SVG tab in upper right region of the page. If you see that something is cropped on your map thats probally if you haven't set a viewport on your. Go back, edit map and create viewport that covers your area of interests.

Also important thing is setting right background - because of licensing issues only selected backgrounds can be used to be embedeed in SVG map - Open Stree Maps (CC-SA), Map Quest (CC-SA) and NASA Aerial (public domain)

After your map is ready click on the Tool tab in map description panel and select Export to Wikipedia Commons. From this screen youo can either download SVG and click the button that will redirect you to Wikipedia Upload page or you can use direct import with your Wikipedia credentials (experimental). These credentials are only used one time during import procedure and they are not stored on ShareMap server.

In case of more questions please let me know - I can prepared detailed screencast.

There is also method to export map KML to Wikipedia Commons to be used with Template:KML but this is little more complicated.
